Terms of service

How we work, in writing.

These are the terms we work under. They are written to be read, not to be survived, and they say the same things we would tell you standing in your driveway.

Effective 10 August 2026. Last updated 10 August 2026.

1. Who these cover

These terms apply between Hitman Detailing and you, when you request a quote through this site, book a visit, or have work performed on a vehicle. Booking a visit means you accept them. If someone else owns the vehicle, you are telling us you have the owner's permission to have the work done.

2. What we do

We are a mobile detailing service. We come to the vehicle, we bring our own water and power, and we work by appointment across Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, the beaches and the surrounding area shown on our service area page. We are not a body shop, a paint shop or a mechanic, and we do not repair, respray or refinish anything.

3. Prices and quotes

The prices published on this site are our current rates and can change. The price for your job is the one we confirm to you directly, and it is a flat rate that does not vary with the size of the vehicle.

A vehicle that has been genuinely neglected for years can need more than a standard visit. Where that is the case we will tell you, and give you a number, before we book the work. We will not start a job at one price and hand you another one at the end.

4. Booking, arrival and weather

We book an arrival window rather than an exact minute, because we work one vehicle at a time and we will not rush a car in front of yours to hit a clock. If we are running late, you will hear from us.

Florida weather interrupts outdoor work. If conditions mean we cannot deliver the result properly, or a protective product cannot cure correctly, we will move the appointment rather than press on. There is no charge for a reschedule on either side.

If you need to cancel or move a visit, as much notice as you can manage is appreciated. If we arrive and cannot access the vehicle, we will contact you and try to sort it out before treating the visit as a missed appointment.

5. Getting to the vehicle

You choose how access works, from the options set out on our membership page, and it is agreed before the visit rather than assumed on the day. Whichever option you pick, the following always apply:

  • We never keep a key or an access code between visits
  • We never ask for a gate code, an alarm code or a spare you cannot cancel
  • Your vehicle is never driven off your property
  • Unattended access is authorized by you in writing, not by a passing text
  • You get a photo walkaround of the vehicle's condition before any work starts

Most of a detail requires the vehicle unlocked, the windows cycled, the engine started briefly and sometimes moved a few feet so we can work safely around it. That is agreed when you book.

6. What we need from you

  • Somewhere safe and legal for us to work, with room to open every door and walk a full circle around the vehicle
  • Personal belongings and valuables removed. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle, and we would rather not be handling them at all
  • Anything we should know about, told to us up front: existing damage, previous repainted or repaired panels, a wrap or film, aftermarket paint or trim, a loose badge, a temperamental door handle, anything that is already not right

Some finishes and repairs behave differently from factory paint, and a surface that has been resprayed or wrapped is not always obvious from the outside. Telling us in advance is what lets us treat it correctly.

7. What we will and will not do to your paint

We clean, decontaminate and protect. We do not perform machine paint correction. We do not compound, machine polish or wet sand as part of a visit.

That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation. Clear coat is finite, every machine polish removes a little of it, and a detailer who buffs a car on a routine is spending something you cannot get back. We assess and document the paint, we protect it, and we maintain that protection so the car does not reach the state where correction is the only answer.

The practical consequence: some defects will still be there when we finish. Swirls, etching, deeper scratches and stone chips are not removed by cleaning and protecting. We will tell you what is in the paint and what would be involved in addressing it. We would rather leave a defect and say so than quietly thin your clear coat.

8. Protective coatings

The protection we apply is a maintained layer, not a permanent one. It is designed to be topped up on a schedule, which is the entire basis of the Protection Program. We do not claim it is permanent, we do not claim it makes a vehicle scratch proof, and we do not offer a warranty on it unless we have given you one in writing.

9. Results

Detailing works on what is there. Age, previous damage, prior repairs, how a vehicle has been washed and how it is stored all affect what is achievable, and we will give you an honest read before we start rather than an optimistic one to win the booking. If you are not happy with what we have delivered, tell us before we leave, or as soon as you see it, and we will put it right where putting it right is possible.

10. The Protection Program

Membership is a recurring visit at a set interval at the member rate, and it can be cancelled at any time. Places are limited by route capacity rather than by demand, so a slot is confirmed rather than assumed. Multiple vehicles on one membership have to be at the same address and done on the same visit, because the saving comes from the travel and setup, not from doing less to each car. The interval, rate and billing arrangement for your membership are confirmed to you in writing when you enroll.

11. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Accepted payment methods are confirmed when you book. We do not collect or store card details through this website.

12. If something goes wrong

We photograph the vehicle's condition with you, or send it to you, before any work begins, so there is a shared record of what was already there. We work one vehicle at a time and we use nothing aggressive on your paint.

If we cause damage, you will hear it from us the same day rather than discovering it yourself, and we will work with you directly to resolve it. Tell us as soon as you notice anything, and while the shared condition record still means something.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, for failures that were going to happen anyway, for defects that cleaning reveals rather than causes, or for items left inside the vehicle. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability arising from a visit is limited to the amount you paid for that visit, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of use or lost time.

13. Photography

We photograph the vehicles we work on and may use those images to show our work. License plates are covered and we do not publish anything that identifies you, your household or your address. Tell us if you would rather your vehicle was not photographed at all, or if there is a detail you want kept out of frame, and that is the end of it.

The complimentary first detail is a separate arrangement: it is explicitly an exchange of the detail for the right to photograph the car, it is described in full on that page, and it is confirmed by a short written release signed at the appointment.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your visit is the one published when you booked it. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date at the top.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute arising under them belongs in the state or federal courts serving Duval County, Florida.

16. Contact

Anything here that is unclear, ask us before you book rather than after.
